Who am I

I am a mid age male, born 1965 in the south of the Netherlands were I still live. After primary and secondary school, I visited high school for an education in electronics. After that, I started to work for Philips "Medical Systems" for a short period. But soon I found a job at a company called "Unisign". Here I work as a hardware and software engineer for more than 20 years allready. Unisign is developing and building CNC controlled drill and milling machinery, as also special handling units for these machines.
I always had interest in aviation, but when a colleague at Unisign gave me FS5 some day, this interest changed into a fascination. In the beginning I had no idea how and where to fly to. Since I was a programmer, I started to write a programm that planned flights for me. This programm has been on the internet for free as "Flightplanner 4", and later on as "Adventure 2000" sold bij Apollo Software.
I got bored with just sitting behind the PC, and after a few years of research I actualy started serious building a Boeing-777 cockpit in 2002. The first design didn't look very well, but I learned a lot about working with wood which wasn't my thing at all. Also I learned a lot about signal interfacing, which was my thing due to my education. Also I learned what I could and could not build myself to get a satisfying result.
So in 2005 I stripped down the first cockpit and started from scratch. Feel free to check this website out to see what I have made and how I made it. Since I learned a lot from other builders, I hope this information will give others ideas how to build, but also how not to build in case you don't like it!
